GHRP-2 is reportedly a synthetic peptide that, when administered, induces the receptors some say ghrelin can activate. It consists of the first 29 amino acids of the native hormone, which is sufficient for it to carry out ghrelin analog or agonist functions at a GHSR-1a receptor in vitro with similar potency to ghrelin. A 29aminoacid peptide with a sequence that is modified from the carboxy terminal positioned amino acids of GHRH and is comprised the chain of 29 amino acids, instead of containing five more with respect to the one related to GHRH. The aa's insertion was prevented by specific changes for enhanced stabilization.
